Today is the digital era. Computer and other digital appliances are dominating the world in almost every fields. Communication, Transportation, Production, Management, are made more effectively and efficiently by digital products.
In production, robots are digital products which is very useful to replace human power. Robots are used because of many advantages, such as lower cost to maintain and work very fast and accurately. That's why experts predict that in the future, robots could replace about 75% of human workers (and it should lower the production cost, shouldn't it?).Will this condition make the world better? Somehow I doubt it.
If it's in an ideal world, yes. The use of robots will lower the production cost. Hence, the products we need will be abundant and those make all what we need to live be easy to obtain (with the very low price or no price at all / gratis). Social inequality will be minimized. Is it the world that we want, where we all can fulfil what we need without any worries?
But I think the world won't go in that way. What's in my mind is that the robots and resources in every business line are owned by capitalists. By minimizing human labours and business costs, the capitalists won't think those as the opportunity to give welfares to the society but as the opportunity to make more money, thus making them much richer. In other hand, more people are unemployed (replaced by robots), and because nothing has changed in the availability and price of goods (which is controlled by 'greedy' capitalists), those people are also resourceless and might be hard to make a living. Social inequality will be much higher than today.
I hope everybody has a mindset to make the ideal world as described above. It's only possible when everybody has the same goal.
